DERRY — The Pinkerton Gymnastics team is the NHIAA Division 1 state champion for the fourth time in five years.
Brittany Capozzi, second overall, and Kaylee Pacunas, fifth overall, led the way at the NHIAA Gymnastics Meet of Champions at Salem High School.
With 138.425 points, Pinkerton held off defending champion Salem with 133.375. Bishop Guertin of Nashua placed third with 128.275.
In finishing second overall with 36.15, Capozzi missed first overall by only one-10th of a point. She earned second place in balance beam and bars, with scores of 9.1 and 8.825, respectively, and placed third in vault with 9.125 points.
Pacunas finished third in bars with 8.725, third in beam with 8.9 and tied for second in floor with Capozzi at 9.1 points.
