Lancers win a thriller

The Londonderry hockey team won a thrilling overtime game against St. Thomas Aquinas Jan. 29 at the Salem Icenter, 7-6, on a goal by Colby Austin.

After leading the entire game the Lancers found themselves trailing 6-4 with 2:30 left in the third period. Londonderry scored a goal with 52 seconds remaining and then scored the tying goal with 5 seconds left in regulation. The Lancers record now stands at 9-2.

Lancers defeat rival Astros

Londonderry scored the first three goals, two on the powerplay, to take a 3-0 and held on late to defeat Pinkerton, 4-3. Pinkerton got on the scoreboard midway through the game as senior Ryan Christie scored with assists from Tyler Poole and Steve Leonard.

Six minutes later the Astros cut the lead to one as junior Gio Corsetto put home a nice feed from fellow junior John Hamilton. Junior Ryan Day scored with the goalie pulled on a rebound from a Tyler Poole shot, but the Astros were not able to get the tying goal.

JV

Astros ice Bishop Guertin

The JV Astros improved to 6-3-1 with a 5-1 win over Bishop Guertin. Aaron Harmon paced the offense by scoring two goals; Chris Gile, Jake St. Jean and Liam Rooney added single tallies. Jake St. Jean and Trent Parker each contributed two assists. Kailee DeCosmo and Mike Francis each chipped in with one assist.

Jordan Puzzo made 16 saves in goal; the defensive corps of Jack Bisson, Mike Francis, Cam Appleyard and Brandon Levesque played excellent in the defensive zone.

Boys

Lancers do swimmingly

In the senior night home swim meet on Jan. 31, the Lancer boys defeated Belmont, Derryfield, Souhegan, Campbell, and Concord. Their lone defeat was to Bedford.

Girls

Lady Lancers take two

In the senior home meet on Jan. 31, the Lady Lancers defeated Derryfield and Concord, but lost to Bedford.
