HUDSON — New England Gymnastics Training Center of Hudson Boys Team competed in two recent tournaments at the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., and at Gym Village in Amherst.
Jonathan Furlong, a Level 6 competitor from Londonderry, earned a medal for his vault performance of 14.3 and an overall score of 79.6 during the West Point meet. He entered six events. Eleven teams from throughout the United States competed at this event. Jonathan also achieved a second-place overall score of 79.1 during the Gymnastics Village Invitational Tournament in Amherst.
Cyrus Laplante, a Level 4 competitor from Londonderry, achieved a sixth-place overall score of 76.4 during the Gymnastics Village Invitational Tournament.
Cole Tridenti, a Level 4 competitor from Londonderry, earned a third-place overall score of 75.7 during the Gymnastics Village Invitational Tournament. Cole achieved second place medals in both the vault and parallel bar performances with scores of 14.8 and 14.1, respectively.
Ben Steele, a Level 5 competitor from Londonderry, achieved a fourth-place overall score of 83.3 during the Gymnastics Village Invitational Tournament. Ben earned second-place medals in the floor and parallel bar events with scores of 14.7 and 14.3, respectively.
NEGTC coaches Jacob Pitt, Tony Cariello, Barry Rogers and Richard Clark lead the largest boys team in New Hampshire.
The final three tournaments for the year are the Granite Cup in North Hampton on Feb 25, the Boston Classic Invitational in Westwood, Mass., on March 3 and 4, and the state meet at Brentwood Commons in Brentwood on March 11.
