Celebrate surfing and help children with cancer

HAMPTON — The Third Annual Molly Surf Celebration will be held Aug. 25 and 26 at the “wall” on 10th Street.

The Molly Fund is a nonprofit organization that raises money to help ease the financial burden of pediatric cancer. Proceeds from this event will go to The Molly Fund at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

Through their Pediatric Resource Program, the Molly Fund provides concrete assistance to in-treatment patients and their families in times of need. The Molly Rowlee Fund is used to assist families with expenses that directly affect their well being, and would make an immediate and positive impact on the lives of pediatric patients and their families.

The Kids Contest is Saturday, Aug. 25 with two divisions: ages 0 to 10 and 11 to 14, using their own boards.

Registration is at 7 a.m. and the contest starts at 8 a.m. Registration is $20.

The adults compete Sunday, with men’s, women’s and a new SUP division.

LONDONDERRY — Londonderry athletic director Howard Sobolov has announced the schedule for the first date of tryouts for Londonderry Middle School fall sports beginning on Aug 27.

Field hockey: Meet at the LMS gym at 3 p.m.

Girls soccer: LMS game field from 3 to 5 p.m.

Boys soccer: LMS practice field from 3 to 5 p.m.

Girls cross country: Meet behind LMS from 3 to 4:45 p.m.
