Last weekend, players from the Derry Eagles Boys U-11 soccer team participated in an elite tournament for the Sports Illustrated Kick-It 3v3 soccer shootout at the Nichols Field Complex. Hollis.
This signature event featured teams participating from New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine.
The boys were placed in Pool A, which consisted of teams from Hartford, Conn., Northshore, Mass., and Timberlane SC, N.H.
The first game against the team from Hartford was back and forth with each team peppering each other's goal and the game ending in a tie. Against Timberlane SC in game two Derry came out strong and dominated as they are accustomed from the opening whistle winning a game that was never in doubt.
The final game versus Northshore was a battle. In the end Derry's defense just could not contain a very strong Northshore offense in a battle of elite teams.
