The Derry Recreation Department and Derry Village Rotary Club are having the 18th annual Dana Ball "Love" Tennis Tournament from July 15 to July 19 and again July 22 to July 26.
Held at the Pinkerton Academy Tennis Facility in Derry, the tournament helps raise money for the battle against Leukemia and youth recreation development. The entry deadlines for the men's singles is July 8 and for all other events the deadline is July 15. John Pelkey is holding the Nutfield Tennis Camp at the Alexander Carr Courts for children from ages 5 to 18 with several sessions to chose from.
With the first session starting already, it's time to sign up for the next ones. Session two is from July 6-9, session three from July 13-16, session four from July 20-23 and session five from July 27-30. Ages 5 to 6 are from 9 to 9:45 a.m.; 7 to 8 are from 10 to 11 a.m.; 9 to 10 are from 11 a.m. to noon; 11 to 14 are from noon to 1 p.m.; and 15 to 18 are from noon to 1 p.m. Children ages 5 and 6 are $40 per session while all other age categories are $50 per session.
Age-appropriate rackets are available for camp use, and family discounts/need based discounts are also available. Registrations are ongoing until full.
