			<description><![CDATA[The Derry Recreation Department and Derry Village Rotary Club are having the 18th annual Dana Ball "Love" Tennis Tournament from July 15 to July 19 and again July 22 to July 26. <br>
Held at the Pinkerton Academy Tennis Facility in Derry, the tournament helps raise money for the battle against Leukemia and youth recreation development. The entry deadlines for the men's singles is July 8 and for all other events the deadline is July 15. Donations of nonperishable food products are requested each of the 7 week series to help  restock the local food banks. This week 258 pounds of food were taken to St. Thomas's Food Pantry in Derry.]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[The Swift Water Paddlers, the Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains' canoe racing team, once again brought home medals from the General Clinton Canoe Regatta in Bainbridge, N.Y.<br>
Girl Scouts from Derry who are on the winning team are Kelsey Rose and Sophie Blood. Girl Scouts from Londonderry are Alandra Horton and Danielle Jellison. The team is made up of 30 Girl Scouts ages 11-18 from New Hampshire and Vermont who compete each Memorial Day weekend against other Girl Scout teams from across the Northeast. On May 23, in the Six-Person Girl Scouts Relay, the Swift Water Paddlers came in first and second. In the Four-Person Girl Scouts Relay, the Swift Water Paddlers took first, fourth, sixth and 11th place.]]></description>
