Calvary Christian falls short in game against Wilton

DERRY — The Calvary Christian School varsity girls soccer team played against Wilton last week and suffered an 8-0 loss.

Although they were missing a player due to injury, they did not stop their attempts to score. Katie Gore and Kayla Gawrys made great attempts to score. Calvary's Goal Keeper had 19 saves.

Boys fall, 4-2

On Sept. 30, the Calvary Christian varsity boys went up against Wilton and lost 4-2.

The two goals were scored by Dan McMahon. David Catenese assisted with one of the goals. There were many saves made by CCS keeper Pete Smith. Calvary Christian had four shots on goal — three by Dan McMahon and the other by Danny Velasquez.

Calvary rebounded from the loss to Wilton and came back to win their first game on Oct. 1 against Concord Christian, 7-4.

Smith made 16 saves, four in the first half and 12 in the second. CCS had 19 shots on goal.

Dan McMahon scored three goals, Austin Smith made one goal with two assists, and Dan Velasquez also made three goals and had three assists. Greg Husson had one assist on a goal for Calvary.
