Salem Legion downs Derry again

The Salem Legion Post 63, which has been reduced to just nine players for several games this summer because of injuries, had 13 yesterday in a 16-2 seven-inning romp over Derry. Salem had just recently sneaked past Derry Post 9 in a barnburner, 11-10.

For Derry (9-4), Steve Clark had a solo home run in the second inning.

Little League

Derry National pounds Manchester Central

Top-seeded Derry National put on quite a show in the opening round of the Fraser tournament, steamrolling Manchester Central 15-1. Derry National advanced to the round of eight against Manchester East.
