Sports roundup: Pinkerton boys lacrosse has big weekend

Boys Lacrosse

Brian Estes scored five goals to help Pinkerton down archrival Londonderry, 18-6. Anthony Valentine scored four goals, Bobby Dattilo and Teagan Norris each had a hat trick, Nick Currier scored twice and Connor McCarthy tallied one. Justin Sproul notched four goals for the Lancers.

In a showdown between two of the top teams in Division 1, Pinkerton topped Hanover, 7-2. Bobby Dattilo and Tom Auger each scored twice for the Astros (12-1) and Mike White turned aside nine shots to secure the win. Hanover drops to 11-2.

Baseball

Kyle Neverman had three hits and three RBIs to lead Londonderry to an 11-1 win over Dover. Scott Worth and Brian Finnegan each had a pair of hits for the Lancers (8-5).

Softball

Gallant spins a gem

Dover defeated Londonderry 3-0. The Lancers managed only four hits. Sara Seaborne and Elizabeth McNamara had a hit each.

Brooke Beaudet pitched a complete game two-hitter as Londonderry beat Goffstown 10-0. Beaudet struck out 10 and walked just two. Andrea Ouellette was 3 for 3 with three doubles and two RBIs for the Lancers.

Girls Lacrosse

Lancers notch historic win

For the first time in program history, Londonderry defeated Pinkerton. The Lancers prevailed 8-6, handing the Astros their first loss of the season.

"The girls really worked for this one," said Londonderry coach Bob Slater. "Defensively, our kids were outstanding, and to have five different goal scorers in a game like this says something for this program."

Kayla Green, Dana Boyle and Jenn Borjeson each scored twice for Londonderry while Nicole Curry and Kacie Connal each scored three goals for Pinkerton.

Sophomore Marcie Marino scored seven times and Dana Boyle added four more as Londonderry had no trouble in an 18-6 win over Nashua South. Boyle also picked up two assists and Kayla Green added three goals. Taylor Hadcock made six saves for the Lancers (10-3).

Boys Track

Three firsts power Pinkerton win at Kiwanis meet

Pinkerton won the Kiwanis Freshman/Sophomore meet. Chris Evans won the triple jump, Chris Pietrocarlo won the 1,600 and Doug Ainscow won the 3,200.

Girls Track

Pinkerton second in Salem

Pinkerton placed second, the highest local finisher at the Kiwanis Freshman/Sophomore meet. Sammy Graziani won the pole vault, Katy Ebner placed first in the shot put and Salem's Amy Desrosiers placed first in the discus.

Boys Tennis

Walsh, Londonderry cruise

Londonderry defeated Manchester Memorial, 5-1, in a rain-shortened match. Evan Walsh, Chris Bowen and Phil Biondo each won 8-0.

Tyler Palmieri won No. 2 singles, Chris Bowen took No. 4 singles and they teamed to win No. 2 doubles as Londonderry bested Goffstown 5-4. Alex Burbine won No. 1 singles and joined Evan Walsh to take No. 1 doubles for the Lancers.

Murphy comes up big, again

Kelli Murphy earned a shutout win at No. 1 singles then teamed with Ali McKinney for a sweep at No. 1 doubles as Londonderry swept Manchester Memorial. Jen Kutt, Katie Bever and Cassie Kelly also swept their respective singles matches.

Kelli Murphy won first singles, Ali McKinney took second singles and they teamed to take first doubles for Londonderry, which downed Goffstown 9-0. Jen Kutt (No. 3 singles) and Katie Bever (No. 4 singles) added a win at No. 2 doubles for the Lancers.
