Londonderry celebrates 113th Old Home Day

113th annual event has theme 'Friends, Family and Fun'

LONDONDERRY — Welcome to Londonderry!

The town invites everyone to come to the 113th annual Old Home Day celebration, set for Aug. 15 through Aug. 19.

The theme for 2012 is “Family, Friends, and Fun.” The theme was suggested by fourth-graders in Pat Slozak’s class at Matthew Thornton Elementary School. The class won an ice cream party for their winning entry.

This year’s Old Home Day schedule kicks off Wednesday night with Senior Citizen Night, featuring a free barbecue and concert to follow on the Town Common.

Old Home Day wraps up Sunday with a contemporary Christian concert and picnic on the Common from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Throughout the five-day event, thousands of people are expected to visit the town and enjoy the long list of activities. Special events include a baby contest, road race, concerts, and a large variety of community and organizations’ booths and displays with information and products.

For information on Old Home Day, visit In case of bad weather, any changes and cancellations will be announced on WLLO-LP, 102.9 and Cable Channel 2.
