Letters to the editor

He is a self-proclaimed “Tea Party favorite” who’s been running for office and losing for the past 20 years. Now he’s the Republican candidate for governor (again), and announced that he still opposes all abortion rights, even in the case of rape and incest – just like Todd Akin.

But Lamontagne goes even further. He now says he supports a so-called “Human Life Amendment” to the Constitution. This amendment would not only overturn Roe v. Wade, it would also make abortion illegal, making criminals out of women and their doctors. Not only that, it would even make many forms of birth control and fertility treatments illegal. This amendment is so extreme, even the voters of Mississippi rejected it when it came up on the ballot last year.

Lamontagne supported Bill O’Brien and his cronies when they de-funded Planned Parenthood, and now he wants to go even further, signing on to an anti-choice agenda that includes passing a new law to allow insurance companies to drop coverage for birth control.

Lamontagne was the wrong choice for New Hampshire women 20 years ago, and he’s the wrong choice now. On Nov. 6, vote for Maggie Hassan, who won’t allow the government to control our health care choices.

The 47 percent vs.

the 100 percent

To the editor:

President Obama claims that he will protect all Americans, including the 47 percent who see themselves as victims. But, through the healthcare mandate, he is supporting the killing of 100 percent of unwanted, unborn children who will never see themselves as anything but victims of a policy that gives women permission to destroy life at all stages of their child’s in utero development. Who are the victims that you will support on election day? Who are the men and women who will fight for Americans, seen and unseen from conception to natural death? Certainly not Obama.
