Kevin Smith has experience in the private, non-profit and government sectors. He served Londonderry as a state representative in the late 1990s, worked for Gov. Craig Benson and also worked for U.S. Sen. Bob Smith. He understands how to work with all of these sectors on a bipartisan basis to get things done up in Concord, which is something that is desperately needed in the State House. As the father of three young children, Kevin has a vested interest in taking a long-term approach to creating jobs and to keeping our kids here in New Hampshire.
I urge you to vote in the primary on Sept. 11, and to vote for the candidate who is passionate about moving our state in the right direction: Kevin Smith.
Generous donations help soup kitchen
To the editor:
The Sonshine Soup Kitchen was truly blessed by the generosity of the staff and patients at Broadway Chiropractic. We were overwhelmed with joy when they drove up with an entire van full of items from our needs list. Our joy was compounded by the donations of $335 worth of grocery store gift cards, $31 in cash, and $145 in checks! It is amazing that all of these donations were the result of a single day of giving!
We cannot thank them enough for organizing this donation drive. Having their patients give to the Soup Kitchen in lieu of payment for chiropractic services was an inspired approach to fundraising. We truly appreciated them calling us in advance to ask what was most needed. Thanks to all of them we were able to stock our shelves with cleaning products, paper goods, and non-perishable foods. We can now offer our homeless clients backpacks, towels, personal care products, new underwear and socks. We will also have a good amount of children’s socks on hand for “back to school” needs.
