Hotline

I'm calling in response to the person who called in about the homeless people wandering the streets of Derry. I've lived in Derry for a lot of years and I frequent Hood Plaza all the time and though I know there are homeless people in Derry, I haven't had any of them ask me for money or coffee and rather than be annoyed I think I'd be thankful that I have a roof over my head and food on my table. And though the town of Derry does need to step up to the plate in regard to the homeless people, it takes everybody to be a part of the solution rather than the problem. Whether that's volunteering at the soup kitchen or buying an extra bag of groceries and dropping it off there on the way home or participating in food drives, we can all do small things to help the homeless people in Derry.
