Irene Zoulias, 96

Holiday, FL — Irene Churas Zoulias, 96, of Holiday, Fla., and Plymouth, N.H., died on October 3, 2013, after a brief illness at Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born on June 26, 1917, in Franklin, N.H., she was the daughter of Athan Churas and Urania Gekas Churas. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, George C. Zoulias; sisters, Dorothy Smith of Windsor, Conn., Lillian Fradette of Lawrence, Mass.; and brother, Frank Churas of Manchester, N.H.

Mrs. Zoulias was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, talented seamstress, outstanding cook, educator, and volunteer. Upon graduation from Plymouth State College, she taught at Lincoln and Bristol high schools. She and her husband spent many happy retirement years in Florida. She loved being on the go, and traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. She belonged to several civic organizations and was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Port Richey, Fla. Family meant everything to her, and she will be remembered by all who knew her as a very thoughtful, caring and giving person.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Charles G. and Christine Zoulias, of Manchester, Nicholas G. and Jeanne Zoulias of Westminster, Md., Andrew P. and Deborah Zoulias of Frederick, Md., and Maria Czop, of Kittery, Maine; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
