Derry, NH — Kathleen (Savio) Gauthier of Derry, N.H., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 22, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was born in Lynn, Mass. on Nov. 16, 1955 to Dorothy (Cullen) and Michael J. Savio, Jr.
Kathie was a 1973 graduate of Lynn English High School and a 1978 graduate of Northeastern University Bouvé College of Health Sciences with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. She was employed in private-duty home health care before moving to Derry, where she worked as a Physical Therapist at Parkland Medical Center for 12 years. Kathie’s lifelong commitment to healthcare continued most recently at Aurora Senior Living of Derry as an Activities Coordinator.
Kathie was devoted to her daughter and spent many hours volunteering in the classroom at Derry Village Elementary School. She was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan and loved vacationing on Cape Cod with friends.
Kathleen leaves behind her beloved daughter, Kaitlin, her dear companion, David Sicley; and her mother, Dorothy Savio. She is also survived by her husband, Philip; brother, Michael Savio; sister-in-law, Carolyn Savio; nephew, Michael Savio; uncle, James Wimberly, aunt Joan Wimberly and aunt, Dorothy Savio. She also will be missed by many cousins, in-laws and loving friends. Not a kinder, sweeter soul has walked on this earth.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours were held on Wednesday, May 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 29, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 134 Broadway, Lynn.
