Derry, NH — Mary A. (Quinn) Hargraves, age 82, of Derry, N.H., formerly of Lynn, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital, Saints Campus in Lowell, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late George J. Hargraves Jr., and the daughter of the late Joseph Michael and Flora Mae (Noyes) Quinn. Born in Boston, Mary was raised in Jamaica Plain. She was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas School in Jamaica Plain, and Katherine Gibbs School in Boston. Mary lived most of her life in Lynn, until moving to New Hampshire in recent years to be with her family. She worked as a bookkeeper for Oxford-Hopkins Shoe Company, Young’s Furniture and Lennox Hill Nursing Home. She enjoyed reading, shopping, dining out, and working Sudoko puzzles. She had a special fondness of caring for her daughter's Irish Setter dogs.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Susan A. Hargraves of Derry, N.H. and Janice Paris and her husband, Stephen, of Derry; her stepdaughter, Nancie Fields of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Jason Paris of Derry, David Park of Manchester, N.H., and Samantha Fields of North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Abigail and Ryan. She also leaves her brother, Warren Quinn and his wife, Catherine of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her brother-in-law, Richard Stockwell of Mountain Home, Idaho and her best friend, Carol Hally of Silver Lake, N.H. She was the sister of the late Rita Stockwell and Joseph “Sonny” Quinn.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, (Route 129), Lynn, on Saturday at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Pius V Church, Lynn at 9 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
