Dorothy Rohanick died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2010, at Woodstock Terrace in Woodstock.
She was born in Ludlow, Mass. In 1917, and received schooling there until her marriage in 1942, to Thomas Rohonick who predeceased her in 2007.
While raising her family in New York, Mrs. Rohanick actively volunteered in her community, including church and Girl Scouts for which she was later honored for 50 years of service. In 1974, she and Mr. Rohanick retired to their summer home to be near family. At that time, she became involved in Gideon work and also accepted a leadership position in Girls Scouts. She readily shared her enthusiasm for the White Mountains and the beauty of their small farm.
Most important to her were family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren, enriching their lives deeply.
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Hiscock and her husband, Harley of Bethany, Conn; her daughters, Mary-Ellen Toensing and her husband Trent of Lyme, N.H. and Julianne Morancy and her husband Robert of Newbury, N.H.; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Etna in Etna, N.H. A reception will follow.
