Londonderry, NH — Gail B. Weston, Jr., 88, of Londonderry, N.H., died August 22, 2013, in the Bedford Hills Care & Rehabilitation Center, Bedford, N.H. Mr. Weston was born in Derry, N.H., on August 26, 1924, a son of the late Gail B. Weston, Sr. and Dora (Paradis) Weston. He graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1942. He simultaneously joined the Navy in 1941 immediately after Pearl Harbor and served during WWII. He retired after over 30 years with Raytheon Company, where he worked as an engineer and was instrumental in the development of the Nike, Hawk and Sparrow Missile Systems. His time with Raytheon was spent in Andover, Bedford Labs and Port Hueneme, Calif. He was a member of St. Jude Parish and the American Legion Post #27, both of Londonderry. Mr. Weston was an avid golfer and also greatly enjoyed spending evenings with his friends at local restaurants.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Misiaszek and her husband, David, of The Villages, Fla., and Paula Brander and her husband, Roman, of Chester, N.H.; three grandchildren, Michael Misiaszek of Candia, N.H., Michele Tobin of San Francisco, Calif., and Wendy Sanderson of Chester; nine great-grandchildren, Kyle, Colby, Samantha, Alex, Delaney, David, Nicholas, Hillary and Max. He leaves one sister, Barbara Gratton of Henniker, N.H.; and one sister-in-law, Marie Weston of Concord, N.H.; also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” (Webster) Weston in 1995; by his son, Alan Weston in 2010; and by his brother, Carl Weston in 2009.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours were held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
