Groveton, N.H. — Ethel Ann (Sauler) Broek, 73, of Fiske Street in Groveton died peacefully at Week’s Medical Center in Lancaster after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
She was born on December 8, 1939 in Lowell, a daughter of Arthur E. and Evangeline (Robichaud) Sauler; she was raised in the Lowell area, graduated from Littleton High School in Littleton, class of 1957 and continued on to college. Ethel lived in Plymouth, N.H. for several years before moving to Groveton seven years ago. Before retiring she worked for 25 years in the bankruptcy department for the Internal Revenue Service.
Ethel loved the beach, holidays, cooking, going to yard sales, crocheting and her crafts. In her high school years she was an avid basketball player and cross-country skier.
Ethel is survived by her four children, Cathleen Morrill Petti of Anchorage, Alaska; William and wife, Donna Morrill of Weare, N.H.; David Morrill of Albany, N.H.; and Ruth Ann Nally of Groveton; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Quinn of Homosassa, Fla., Arlene Sauler of Leominster, Regina “Gina” Murphy of Washington; and Marion Shattuck of Littleton, and several nieces and nephews.
