Norman H. “Carpy” Carpentier, 88, formerly of Pelham and more recently from Wilton, NH, died Thanksgiving Day at the Fairview Nursing Home in Hudson, NH after a period of declining health. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dora A (Trudel) Carpentier to whom he was married for 64 years.

Born in Dracut, Massachusetts, August 4, 1924, he was the son of the late Wilfred and the late Elizabeth (Leach) Carpentier. He attended Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School in the Class of 1943; he later went on to attend Lowell Technological Institute.

A veteran of World War II, Carpy proudly served as a member of the U.S. Naval Air forces.

Carpy worked for the Psoinos Construction Company in Dracut for over 35 years as a construction supervisor.

A member of the Pelham American Legion Post 100, Carpy enjoyed travelling and woodworking, but was the happiest when he was spending time with his family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters: Cheryl Brunelle and her husband Norman of Pelham, Lynn Moran and her husband Timothy of Derry, NH, Linda Bakaian of Wilton, NH, Laurel Stark and her husband Michael of Stafford Springs, CT and Doreen Martell and her husband Wayne of Hudson, NH; a son Norman H. Carpentier II of Hampton, NH; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a brother Rolan Carpentier and his wife Ellen of Port Charlotte, FL; a sister–in-law Rita Carpentier of Westford, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Kristofer Stark, father-in-law of the late Bruce Bakaian and brother of the late Edmond Carpentier and the late Constance Bailey.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Fairview Nursing Home for the attentive, compassionate care given to our Dad and the support that my Mom and our family received during his stay.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday morning at ST. PATRICK CHURCH in PELHAM NH at 11 o’clock. Committal Services will be private. E-condolences/directions at pelhamfuneralhome.com.
