Derry, NH — Ralph F. MacDavitt, 102, of Derry, died Saturday September 1, 2012 at Parkland Medical Center of Derry. He was born April 3, 1910 in Lynn, MA, and was a son of the late Charles and Mildred (Cobbett) MacDavitt. He was raised and educated in the Lynn area, and was a resident of Derry for most of his life.
Mr. MacDavitt was employed for many years as a machinist with General Electric of Lynn. He enjoyed singing, and loved ice cream which he ate every day for at least the last 50 years.
Members of the family include his daughter, June D. Cummings and her husband, Wayne, Sr. of Derry, four grandchildren, Susan, Wayne, Jr., Cheryl and Steven, one great granddaughter, Tiffany, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Dorothy (Drew) MacDavitt in 1981; he was also predeceased by three brothers, Charles, Arthur and Chester and three sisters, Alma, Bessie and Ethel.
ARRANGEMENTS: An hour of visitation was held Wednesday September 5, 2012 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street Derry, NH. A funeral service followed immediately after in the funeral home and burial concluded services at Forest Hill Cemetery of East Derry.
