Derry, N.H. — Catherine Hanson, 77, of Derry died Tuesday December 4, 2012 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, after a period of declining health. Catherine was born May 4, 1935 in Liverpool, England and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Bergan) Hanson.
She was a survivor of World War II in England and moved to Albany, N.Y. with her family at the age of 14. She was educated in Albany, and had been a resident of Derry, for over 25 years.
She was employed as a receptionist with several companies, including Macy’s and Sanders Corp. She was proud to be a naturalized American citizen, and was a communicant of St. Thomas Catholic Church of Derry.
Members of the family include three sons, Peter J., Robert P. and James P. Edmunds; three daughters, Pamela H. Hanson, Joyce E. Smith and Jennifer J. Edmunds; six grandchildren, Nathaniel, Daniel, Megan, Ian, Nathan and Conner, and two great grandchildren, Michael and Ella, as well as one sister, Margaret Hanson, of Binghamton, N.Y.
