Windham, NH — Ruth Durgin passed away peacefully, spending her last days surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Samuel L. Clark and Ida Gould Clark.
Ruth grew up in Hawthorne (Danvers), Massachusetts. She graduated from Danvers High School in 1951. Over the years, she worked for Putnam Pantry, Hood Foam, the IRS, NFC and Northeast Nursery finally retiring at age 72. She married William F. Durgin III in 1956. They were married for 22 years, living together in Beverly, MA. She then lived in North Andover, MA with her longtime partner Robert Jaureguay. She spent her final years in New Hampshire.
She had recently traveled to Las Vegas and California to visit her daughters. She enjoyed reading, music, puzzles, playing games with friends and telling family history.
Survivors include her five children: Catherine Durgin of Las Vegas, NV; Bruce Durgin of Hudson, MA; Howard Durgin of Amesbury, MA; Sharyn Ramos and her husband Richard of Derry, NH; and Deirdre Briese and her husband Albert of Redondo Beach, CA; seven grandsons, a great grandson and numerous other relatives.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 15 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH at 11 a.m. on January 5, 2013. Coffee and light refreshments will follow.
