Arlene M. Allgeyer, 86
Arlene M. Allgeyer, 86, of Derry, N.H., died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008 in Salem, N.H.
Arlene was born in Hampstead, N.H., Aug. 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Marlon and Vera (Coombs) Stevens. She grew up on her parent's dairy farm.
As a youth her nickname was "Butch" and she was an avid hunter, with a dozen deer to her credit. As a dowser, Arlene could locate water with a hickory stick. She also played the harmonica.
She met and married Frank Allgeyer in 1948 and had one child. She worked along side her husband in the aluminum window business.
Arlene collected coin silver spoons and turn of the century post cards. She donated blood whenever possible and had received her seven gallon pin from the Red Cross. In later years, she donated her time at local food banks during the holidays and during elections she worked at the polls. Arlene enjoyed senior trips to Foxwoods Casino, morning coffee with her crew at McDonald's and the breakfasts at First Parish Church in East Derry. She was a good cook, homemaker and a loving mother.
She is survived by her son, Frank Allgeyer and his wife Adina of Derry; three grandchildren, Amy Chingros and her husband Basil of Hudson, N.H., Kyna Abraham of Goffstown, N.H., Yad Abraham of California; one great-granddaughter, Aiyana Abraham of Goffstown; also one niece, several nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Allgeyer in 1996 and by her sister, Marjorie S. Wilson in 2007.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be held Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Robert H. Cowen, 61
Robert H. "Bob" Cowen, 61, of Derry, N.H., formerly of the metro-west area of Massachusetts and Livermore Falls, Maine, died Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 in the Lahey Clinic, Burlington.
He was born April 1, 1946 in Marlboro, a son of the late Russell and Marie (Welch) Cowen.
He worked as a manager for Host Marriott Services and Wendy's in Massachusetts.
His happiest times were traveling with his wife, Celeste and family over the years to California, Nevada, Florida and throughout New Hampshire. He enjoyed bowling in a league in Marlboro for many years, playing golf and watching sports. His latest venture was doing puzzles and framing them, and just being with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Celeste (Foster) Lafreniere-Cowen of Derry; two sisters, Frances Chicoine and her husband Clarence of Jay, Maine, Patricia Burgess and her husband Webb of Northboro; two brothers, Raymond Slater and his wife Wanda of Atascadero, Calif. and Paul Cowen; two nieces, Debbie Baxter of Jay, Maine and Julie Labonte of Ringe, N.H.; a special aunt, Jane Woods of Monroe, N.Y. and her family. He is also survived by his extended family, Paula and Kenneth Pastore of Londonderry, N.H., Ann Marie Hickey and Vincent Torraco of Athol and Michelle Lafreniere of Shrewsbury; as well as his five grandchildren, Kenneth and David Pastore, Laura, Vincent and Celeste Torraco.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Cremation will follow. James S. Tebo, 83
James S. Tebo, 83 of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Chester, died on Saturyday, Jan. 19, 2008.
He was born Oct. 28, 1924 in Boston and lived in Weston, Mass.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Helen Giordano Tebo; two sons, James Jr. and daughter-in-law, Laurie, of Londonderry and Edward of Bonita Springs, Fla. and daughter-in-law, Laura of Ft. Myers Fla. He had three grandchildren, Gina, Chelsea and Alexis, and many nieces and nephews.
He was a World War II veteran, serving his country in the Navy in the South Pacific. After being discharged he earned a degree from Boston University.
He was an insurance and real estate agent, owning his own business in Derry for many years before moving to Chester.
He was an antique car enthusiast, owning many classic cars in his lifetime. He was also a collector of antique clocks.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be a private family service in the summer.

Upon graduation in 1943 Homer entered the U S Army; serving during World War II he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant before receiving his honorable discharge in 1946. -

Mrs. Raymond was born in Boston, MA on October 9, 1920, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Sylvia (Cushman) Pike. While living in MA, she had been employed by New England Art of Abington, and Bostonian Shoe Company of Whitman. After moving to Derry in 1977, she worked for Hadco and Treasure Masters of Derry, served as President of Londonderry Senior Citizens, and Nutfield Heights Association. Edith was also a long time member of Londonderry United Methodist Church. -

Mr. Mauzy was born in Marine City, MI on September 12, 1930, a son of the late Henry S. and Thelma E. (Smith) Mauzy. He was a lifelong Derry resident and a 1948 graduate of Pinkerton Academy. While at Pinkerton Academy he played on All Star and Championship football and basketball teams and was voted by his classmates to be the best school athlete and most popular student. He had worked for NH Egg Producers in Derry and for Sanders Associates of Nashua. He retired in 1989 from Kolsman Corp. in Merrimack, NH. Mr. Mauzy was also a member of St. Mark's Masonic Lodge #44 F & AM of Derry. -

Ms. Lamoly was one of 15 children, six sons and nine daughters, born to the late Jacob and Abigail (Samuel) Anderson. She was employed as a crew member at Dunkin Donuts for many years. Jane loved to cook, as well as entertain family and friends. It was her goal in life to feed everyone and make sure no person or animal went hungry. -

She was born July 12, 1935 in Portland, Oregon to Marion Grace (Ellsworth) Pennington and Charles William Pennington. Nancy's lifelong love of language and learning led to her studies at Mount Holyoke College from which she graduated summa cum laude in May of 1957 with a degree in English Literature and Composition. In June of 1957 she married, Robert F. Cobban with whom she shared 51 wonderful years. Nancy, her husband, and their three children settled in Derry, NH in 1971. There, Nancy began her professional career in earnest.
