Sebring, FL — Robert A. Steeves, 75, of Derry, NH, died Sunday, December 22, 2013, in Sebring, FL. Mr. Steeves was born in Peabody, MA on January 17, 1938, a son of the late Herman and Irene (Aubrey) Steeves. He served with the US Air Force during the Korean War Era. He retired after 25 years from Lincoln Labratories in Lexington, MA, a division of MIT. He was a resident of Derry since 1979, formerly living in Haverhill, MA. Mr. Steeves and his wife have been wintering in Sebring, FL for many years. He was active in the VFW Post 1617 in Derry and a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry. He was an avid woodworker and loved to fish. He was also a longtime member of the APA Pool League.
He is survived by his wife, Helen "Audrey" Steeves of Derry and Sebring, FL; two sons, Peter Steeves of Hudson, NH, Christopher Steeves of Derry, NH; one daughter, Elizabeth Dahlin and her husband, Don, of West Georgia; two granddaughters, Nicole Steeves of Derry, NH, and Carolann Susan Steeves of Manchester, NH; 11 siblings, Donna, Cecelia, Richard, Pat, Bill, Brian, Catherine, Pamela, Paula, Mark and Leeanne. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Steeves in 1995.
ARRANGEMENTS: A calling hour will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, with a Catholic Prayer Service at 2 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
