St. Thomas Aquinas Church of Derry invites area women to come for breakfast, coffee, fun and friendship. The women's group "Sharing Our Gifts" offers women regardless of whether they attend any church, an opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends in a casual atmosphere.
The event will offer free feature presentations on topics of interest to women, from clothing, cosmetics and cooking, to time management, and tips on re-entering the job market, which will be presented by other local women.
The speaker this month will be local humor columnist Nora Spero, who will offer a four-session mini-course based on her book The Color Code: How to Look Like a Million Without Spending It.
This month the group will meet Wednesday, May 28, at 9 a.m., in the hall located in the lower level of the church. Parking is directly across the street from the church on Crystal Ave in Derry. Entry is through the left rearside door of the church.
The group will continue to meet from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on the last Wednesday of each month. There will also be a very short talk by a woman on how Jesus has changed her life, and of course, coffee, fun and camaraderie. There is no charge or registration, just come and enjoy. Due to unavailability of child care facilities, attendees must be 18-years or older.
If you have a talent, ability or gift you'd like to share with other women, or any questions, call Carole Tyrrell at 437-3788 or e-mail her at email@example.com.
