Need for blood donations high in summer

LONDONDERRY — The Rotary Club of Londonderry sponsored a blood drive at Londonderry High School on Monday afternoon. In the first hour and a half, they had 40 donors.

All donors received a coupon for a free carton of Friendly's ice cream.

Blood donations can fall off during the summer months, so all prospective donors are urged to "give the gift of life."

The Londonderry Lions Club will host a blood drive Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 1 to 6 p.m. Donors will receive a Red Sox Nation/American Red Cross T-shirt.

The Lions Club hall is located at 259 Mammoth Road.
