Londonderry fire station opens its doors

Children learn and practice at open house

Derry News

---- — LONDONDERRY — They got dressed quickly in their official apparatus, learned about the fire trucks and were even able to spray water.

Children and families attending Saturday’s open house at the Londonderry Central Fire Station got up close and personal with the town’s firefighters and equipment. They also learned some valuable tips about fire prevention.

Some children were able to sit in the fire trucks, dress in official firefighters’ garb and even take turns holding a hose to spray water.

Londonderry joined several communities in the area hosting open houses at fire stations during the month.
