---- — Dinner supports Manchester man

A benefit spaghetti dinner is held Oct. 26 at the Londonderry Lions Hall on Mammoth Road to help support Manchester resident Tony Scioscia, who needs a lifesaving kidney transplant.

Volunteers will host the dinner for Scioscia, who is waiting for a transplant after being in dire health for more than a decade.

The average kidney transplant costs approximately $250,000. After health insurance, which will cover the cost of the transplant itself, Scioscia still faces significant medical expenses related to the surgery and will need a lifetime of follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications.

To help alleviate the financial burden, Scioscia turned to the National Foundation for Transplants for assistance with some of these financial burdens. NFT is a nonprofit organization that helps patients raise funds to pay for transplant-related expenses.

Admission is $10 per person; raffle tickets can be purchased for $20 apiece or three for $50. Raffle prizes include a one-week stay at a Kissimmee, Fla., condo, a 46-inch, flat-screen TV and an Apple iPad.
