The ninth annual Art on the Common art show is set for Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All area artists are invited to get involved in the annual show, that features many forms of art media, including watercolor, oils, acrylics, colored pencil, and sculpture.

Apple CountryCraft Fair planned
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Mammoth Road hosts its 26th annual Apple Country Fall Craft Fair on Sept. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again on Sept. 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be more than 60 crafters from all over New England selling their products and handcrafted items. For information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Legion Post 27 plans for Sept. 11
The American Legion Post 27 in Londonderry hosts a ceremony to honor those lost on Sept. 11.
The ceremony begins Sept. 11 at 8:46 a.m. on the Town Common.
New town office hours are set
The Londonderry Building, Health and Zoning Enforcement offices has revised hours of operation.
Office hours will be: Monday and Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, closed; Thursday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Library hosts Alaska program
Leach Library hosts a program “Alaska Wilderness: A Canoe Journey Into the Arctic, National Wildlife Refuge” on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.
The event is presented by Marcia and Mark Wilson. The presentation includes a 75-minute slide show and photographs.
The program is free and sponsored by the Friends of the Londonderry Leach Library.
Elder Affairs Committee program set
The town’s Elder Affairs Committee, as part of its family education series, is hosting a workshop at Leach Library on Sept. 25 from 6 to 7 p.m.
This workshop will introduce the Veteran Community Partnership and provide an overview of the programs and services available through the VA for Veterans and their families.
The workshop will be conducted by Veteran Community Partnership Community Co-Chairman Bonnie Roberts and a representative of the Veterans Benefits Administration.
Household waste collection set
Londonderry will host a household hazardous waste collection event on Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at Nelson Fields.
Items that can be disposed of include fertilizers, pesticides, pool chemicals, cleaners, gasoline, antifreeze, oil-based paints/stains, solvents, thinners, poisons, insect spray and much more.
Items that will not be accepted include batteries, latex paints, explosives, infectious wastes or asbestos.
