School prepares to say goodbye to Carol Mack

Principal Mack retires after 25 years in school district

“I’m going to miss that,” Mack said. “Over the years, I have been so fortunate to become part of these families.”

Londonderry superintendent Nate Greenberg said Mack will be missed.

“She’s an outstanding education leader,” Greenberg said. “She’s also been fantastic in generating a sense of community among the students, faculty and parents.”

Putney was named to replace Mack as Matthew Thornton’s leader after serving as assistant principal at Thorntons Ferry Elementary School in Merrimack.

Thompson is looking forward to Matthew Thornton’s new chapter, but said he will miss Mack’s leadership. The last day of school will be hard, he said.

“Carol has always dismissed the buses,” he said. “She’ll be standing out there, waving goodbye to the kids. And I’m sure there will be bubbles blowing. That was one of her things.”
