LONDONDERRY — Following an emergency on Highlander Way, several residences there will get new addresses to better serve the emergency dispatch system.
The new addresses follow an incident in which police and fire personnel had difficulty accessing Highlander Way and five buildings there.
The buildings are rental properties and the land is owned by the nearby Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.
Highlander Way will now be known as Elm Way and buildings will be numbered 2E, 2F, 2G, 2H and 2I.
The town’s director of assessing Karen Marchant told town councilors at a meeting March 4 that Highlander Way had been blocked off and a driveway from Brown Avenue was the only way to get to those properties.
She said the airport is on board with the changes. Many people who reside in those properties are often pilots who are on. Residents living there will be notified of the address changes.
