---- — Summer playground program ends
The town’s annual summer recreation playground schedule concludes Aug. 2 with a season-ending talent show.
Daily sessions were held from 9 a.m. to noon and also from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Matthew Thornton Elementary School playground.
Children enjoyed several weeks of recreation fun including games, sports, crafts and special themed days and movies.
The final week included water balloon games, a soccer shoot-out and also tye-dye action with participants creating their own unique shirts.
Building Department reduces office hours
To address a gap in administrative services, and provide opportunity for staff to maintain office efficiency, the office hours of the Building Department will change.
Starting Wednesday, Aug. 7, the Building Department will be closed to walk-in customer service on Wednesday of each week. All other functions of the department will continue as usual, including normal construction inspections.
Office hours will be: Monday – Tuesday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday - closed; Thursday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

LSEP holds first meeting of school year
The Londonderry Special Education Partnership will hold its first general meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m. in the Moose Hill
Conference Room in Town Hall.
As part of the meeting, Kim Carpinone, Director of Pupil Services will review the flow chart of special education staff and supports.
She will also outline some helpful hints from the school staff perspective for engaging in the IEP meeting process.
Summer reading program continues
Leach Library offers summer reading activities for children.
Upcoming events include a magic show featuring Awesome Robb’s magic on Aug. 7 from 11 a.m. to noon.

Benefit car wash planned
Londonderry High School’s Class of 2016 hosts a car wash at the BP gas station near Crossroads Mall on Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The car wash is free, but donations are welcome.
Join the fun at Old Home Day
The Old Home Day “Town Fair” event is seeking people who might want to enter baked goods, framed art or craft projects.
The event takes place Aug. 17 at the Londonderry Grange Hall on Mammoth Road. Information is available at oldhomeday.com.
