Musquash Field Day set in Londonderry

---- — LONDONDERRY — For 22 years, the town has invited visitors to come enjoy a winter day at the Musquash Conservation Area.

This year’s Musquash Field Day is set for Feb. 15. It will feature a day full of educational and outdoor activities.

The field day is sponsored jointly by Londonderry’s Conservation Commission and the University of New Hampshire’s Cooperative Extension.

The day begins at 10 a.m. People can meet at the entrance to the 900-acre Musquash area off Hickory Hill Drive . Join a guided hike along the property’s trails to learn about winter wildlife, botany and Musquash cellarholes.

At the end of the hike, there will be refreshments offered around an open fire.

Visitors can come anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Trail experts will offer maps and trail information for those who want to travel the area’s many trails on their own.

Snowshoes will be made available or people can bring their own. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the campfire on the Landing Trail. The day will be held whether the ground is bare or buried in snow.

People of all ages, including children and pets, are welcome to attend the Musquash event. Parking is located at the end of Hickory Hill Drive.
