School budget hearings set
A public hearing will be held Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. to discuss the proposed school budget for next year.
A bond hearing also will be held to discuss a proposed $4 million bond to pay for major school renovations and repairs.
The hearings will be held at the Moose Hill Council Chambers at the town office complex.
Women’s Club to meet
The Londonderry Women’s Club hosts its January social on Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m.
The event includes white elephant bingo. All are invited to attend and learn more about the club, which has been in existence for more than 40 years.

Candidate filing period opens
The filing period opens Jan. 22 for those seeking to run for town or school district office. The last day to file is Jan. 31.
There are many open positions, including two three-year spots for School Board and two three-year positions for Town Council.
Town candidates can file applications at Town Hall. For school positions, call district clerk Mary Wing Soares at 274-1679.
Soares will also be at the school office on Jan. 31 from 3 to 5 p.m. for final candidate filings.
Office hours are for veterans
Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter’s veterans liaison Josh Denton will hold open office hours for veterans on Jan. 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Greeley-Parmenter-Harrington American Legion Post 27, 6 Sargent Road.
Denton, an Iraq war veteran, will be available to assist veterans in obtaining benefits and can answer questions and offer information. Call 641-9536 for information.
Just say ‘Hooray for Hats’
Leach Library hosts a children’s program “Hooray for Hats!” on Jan. 27 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Children will learn all about different hats around the world.
Participants will receive a hat to take home and decorate. Call 432-1127 for information.
Special education group meets Jan. 28
The Londonderry Special Education Partnership meets on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Moose Hill Council Chambers at the town offices.
The group provides a district-wide family/school partnership to support special education in the community from preschool age through high school. The group hosts workshops and other activities.
The next workshop is Feb. 11 at 7 p.m., also at Moose Hill Council Chambers. Another meeting is scheduled for Feb. 18 at 9:30 a.m. at Leach Library. Visit londonderrysep.org for information.
