Christopher Cook has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
He is an intelligence analyst assigned to the U.S. Pacific Command Joint Intelligence Operations Center at Pearl Harbor Naval Base, Makalapa, Hawaii. The lieutenant colonel has served in the military for 19 years.
Cook is the son of Charles S. Cook of Birchwood Road, Medford, N.Y., and Geralynn M. Cook of Woodbury Road, Farmingville, N.Y. He is the son-in-law of Thomas and Margaret Sweeney of Alan Circle, Londonderry.
The lieutenant colonel is a 1985 graduate of St. Anthony's High School, South Huntington, N.Y. He received a bachelor's degree in 1989 from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., and earned a master's degree in 2001 from Touro College, Bay Shore, N.Y.
