Bake sale planned at Mack’s Sept. 1
St. Jude’s Women’s Guild hosts its annual bake sale on Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mack’s Apples farmstand on Mammoth Road.
The Guild offers a wide variety of baked treats and fall items, including cakes, cookies, muffins, breads and homemade pies.
Leach Library closes for work
Leach Library will close Sept. 3 and Sept 4 due to the scheduled replacement of the library’s HVAC unit.
The library will reopen Sept. 5 for regular hours beginning at 9 a.m.

Leach Library hosts a program on bees on Sept. 16 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Children will learn about bees through stories and other activities. Call the library to pregister at 432-1127 or stop by the Children’s Room.
Scholarship applications sought
The Londonderry Women’s Club is taking applications for its Adult Female Scholarship for the school year 2013-2014 in the amount of $500.
Applicants must be a female at least 23 years of age and a current resident of Londonderry. They must also have completed a minimum of half of their credits toward their named graduate degree in their current field of study from an accredited, secondary institution, and be enrolled in a subsequent year of study.
Deadline for receiving applications is Sept. 30. Applications are available at Leach Library.
Senior Center offers full schedule
The Londonderry Senior Center, 535 Mammoth Road, offers a full schedule of programs, meals, special activities, and fitness.
This week’s schedule features dominos, music, line dancing, chair exercise and the Silver Notes Chorus rehearsal. Call for information at 432-7509.
Town welcomes new officers
The town welcomed two new police officers to the Londonderry force. At the Town Council meeting Aug. 19, Officers Michael Tufo and Ryan Bukor were introduced.
Police Chief Bill Hart welcomed the duo to the force and said they would be continuing with field training. The meeting room was full of both police and fire officials present to support the new hires.
“I’m really excited to have them on board,” Hart said. “It’s also encouraging to see officers here to support these young men as they join Londonderry’s finest.”
