LONDONDERRY — It’s down to the final four.
Town councilors announced Monday night they are moving closer to finding a new town manager.
“We have four final candidates,” Council Chairman John Farrell said.
Councilors were scheduled to go into nonpublic session following Monday’s regular meeting to line up the interview process for the top candidates.
The town manager search has been a long one.
Police Chief Bill Hart became acting town manager last June after longtime manager David Caron resigned.
Officials originally wanted to fill the job by April 1 of this year. The first search netted 66 applicants and one was chosen as the best fit. The town was ready to make an offer, but then learned the applicant had accepted another job.
The process had to begin again.
This time around, there were 54 applicants in the pool.
Officials hope to have a new town manager in place by midsummer.
