Bring new toys to Legion Post 27

American Legion Post 27 on Sargent Road in Londonderry (behind the fire station) is a Toys for Tots drop-off center.

Anyone wishing to drop off a new, unwrapped toy can do so between noon and 9 p.m. any day of the week.

The last day to drop off toys is Friday, Dec. 14.

Santa comes to cable

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will come to the Londonderry Access Center for holiday cheer this year.

On Saturday, Dec. 15, Santa will be at the the Center’s CTV-20 from 1 to 3 p.m. Children can arrive to visit, have photos taken, and enjoy treats and some holiday cheer. The visits are free. Call the Access Center for information at 432-1147.

Scouts will burn discarded trees

Boy Scout Troop 521 is conducting its 18th annual Christmas Tree Bonfire at Mack’s Apples on Mammoth Road on Saturday, Jan. 5,2013.

Drop off your Christmas tree between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the Mack’s parking lot. All are welcome to come for the bonfire at 5 p.m. Donations are gratefully accepted.

This is a fun event for both the Scouts and the community. The boys spend the day unloading and piling up the trees and brush that are brought in.

At 5 p.m., the bonfire is lighted. Refreshments are available for purchase.

Senior Center closes for holiday week

The Senior Center will be closed Dec. 24-28 to give the many dedicated volunteers a chance to be with their families. The Senior Center will also be closing at noon on Dec. 31 and will be closed Jan. 1.
