Aviation Museum offers program

Derry News

---- — LONDONDERRY — Aviation Museum of New Hampshire president Bob Hough will offer a unique look at what has become known as “an aviator’s field of dreams” on May 10.

Triple Tree Aerodrome in Woodruff, S.C., is a 7,000-by-400-foot, grass-covered runway that accommodates more than 800 aircraft during the annual fly-in. The field itself is surrounded by trees and dotted with lakes and ponds. It’s a camping paradise for flyers and it has also been compared to the Augusta Classic in golf.

Don’t let the grass fool you, Triple Tree is a first-class, modern aviation facility which caters to everyone. Hough will speak of the “three F’s” – flying, friends and food. At the Triple Tree fly-ins each year, there is plenty of all three ingredients,. Hough will show videos and still photos.

Second Saturday @ Museum is a monthly series offered by the Aviation Museum of NH. “Triple Tree Aerodrome and Other Fun Flying Adventures” will begin at 11 a.m. May 10 in the Slusser Aviation Learning Center in the museum. The museum is located at 27 Navigator Road.

The presentation is included in the regular admission price, and is free to museum members. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis, so come early.
