LONDONDERRY — An Old Nashua Road resident found someone trying to get into his house the morning of July 10 and police soon after arrested Mark Guthro, 36, at his nearby Bayberry Lane home.
When the homeowner confronted Guthro at about 10:45 a.m., police said, he told the resident he was looking for a different address.
Police don’t think it was the first time Guthro tried to gain entry to homes in the area, Lt. Tim Jones said last week.
Not long ago, Guthro was found on someone else’s deck and served with a trespass notice, Jones said. A day after that incident, another neighborhood resident saw someone walking through their property, but police don’t know whether that was Guthro, he said.
On July 10, police discovered an open door at another home in the neighborhood, Jones said, but, again, police don’t know if that was Guthro’s doing.
Guthro was arrested on a single charge of attempt to commit burglary. He was arraigned last week in 10th Circuit Court in Derry and is being held on $5,000 cash bail.
Jones said police have “had contact” with Guthro in the past.
