LONDONDERRY — A new distribution facility may be coming to Pettingill Road.
But it’s a mystery who might be coming to Londonderry to use the facility.
Although Planning Board members don’t have many details yet on what the business is, a 200,000-square-foot facility is proposed for that area of North Londonderry, just south of the airport.
The facility, proponents say, would handle parcel distribution and delivery at various times of the day from the main building on the land owned by Ballinger Properties.
Trucks will be arriving and leaving at different shifts to make deliveries. The facility would have 450 parking spaces for employees and visitors.
Vehicles would be stored outside and much of the delivery work would be done during off-business hours
Planning Board member Leitha Reilly asked what the deliveries would be, but did not get a definite response, except that packages would traditionally weight 50 pounds or less.
The plan is in its very early stages, Nashua-based civil engineer Jim Petropoulos told officials.
Another burning question also remained a mystery — what company will use the facility.
“You are not revealing who the client is yet?” Reilly asked.
Petropoulos said more details on who is going to fill that space are coming soon.
He was the plan’s representative and said developers hope to break ground on the project this year with completion set for October 2014.
