LONDONDERRY — The town’s planning department rates high when it comes to having its staff certified.
The department is now 100 percent International Code Certified, among only three in the state receiving that honor.
Senior building inspector Richard Canuel said assistant inspector Dan Kramer received commercial building inspector certification and administrative staff member Libby Canuel is now also certified as a permit technician through the International Code Council.
Canuel said having this added certification status gives Londonderry’s building department added support and reduces liability for the building safety program.
The department is also eligible to receive a potential $1,000 credit toward continuing education for its members
Londonderry is recognized on the ICC website as a community with high regard for public safety and good building practices.
Town Manager Kevin Smith credited the department for its hard work.
“Well done, thank you for your effort,” he said.
Town Council Chairman Tom Dolan also gave particular credit to Canuel’s work with several key issues in town.
“I appreciate your professionalism,” he said.
