Londonderry principal recieves big farewell

North School says goodbye to principal

LONDONDERRY — Students and staff at North Elementary School gave one final farewell to their principal.

The school surprised principal Mary Coltin last week in a special assembly, paying tribute to Coltin’s time leading the school. They offered songs, a crown, and other special tokens of their appreciation.

Coltin came to Londonderry after teaching for more than 20 years in Pelham and eventually took on assistant principal duties at North School. She was named the state’s top assistant principal in 2009.

She took the top job at North Elementary in 2010. She is one of only three principals North School has had over the years.

Paul Dutton will take over the North School principal job once Coltin retires. He comes to North from an assistant principal job at Londonderry High School.
