---- — Veterans breakfast planned Nov. 9

Londonderry High School’s Pay It Forward Club hosts a breakfast for veterans on Nov. 9 from 8 to 10 a.m. at the high school cafeteria. The event is free to veterans and one guest.

The program includes special recognition for veterans, and music performed by student musicians.

Legion Post 27 plans parade on Nov. 9

American Legion Post 27 hosts its Veterans Day parade on Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. following the breakfast at the high school.

The parade will leave the high school, head down Mammoth Road and end at the Town Common, where traditional Veterans Day services will be held.

Free Thanksgiving meal offered

The Londonderry Fire Department hosts a free Thanksgiving meal for seniors on Nov. 9 at noon. The meal will be held at the senior center at Mayflower Grange.

The menu includes all the trimming, desserts and beverages. Sign up at the senior center or call 432-8554.

Russian students, businessmen visit

Londonderry welcomed a group of Russian business leaders and students, all affiliated with the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. The group visited Highland Forwarding Inc. and Highland Project Logistics Inc. in Londonderry last month. The visit was part of a mission to introduce the foreign students to American business and help make connections.

Sen. Sharon Carson, R-Londonderry, sent a proclamation to welcome the guests that was read by Town Manager Kevin Smith. Smith also led a question-and-answer session and chatted with the visitors about a wide range of topics.

Award-winning author visits

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Hedrick Smith made a stop at the Londonderry Access Center recently to be interviewed for the local cable program, “One Voice At a Time.”

The show’s host, Dottie Grover, had the opportunity to sit down with Smith during his New Hampshire tour and hear more about his latest book, “Who Stole the American Dream?”

Senior line dancing offered

Londonderry seniors can enjoy line dancing at the senior center on Mammoth Road.

Dancing is held Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. This is not a beginner class and is led by instructor Sharon Dolbie. Call the center for information at 432-7509.

Senior citizens host raffle

The Londonderry Senior Citizens Inc. continues to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a Christmas Raffle.

The first prize is a 42-inch flat screen LED television; the second prize is cash. The drawing is Dec. 14 at the senior center holiday luncheon.
