Full ballot for Londonderry House GOP races

---- — LONDONDERRY — With 10 Republican candidates running for the seven House seats in District 5, voters have some choices when they cast primary ballots Sept. 11.

The five Democratic candidates are running unopposed: Edward Combes, Bryan Merrill, Lisa Whittemore, Miranda Fairbrother and Gary Vermillion.

Betsy McKinney, a Republican, did not respond.

Polls will be open Sept. 11, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Londonderry High School gymnasium, 295 Mammoth Road. Residents also can vote at the town clerk’s office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

How can Republicans and Democrats better work together in the upcoming session? The two parties joining together to support initiatives that benefit the people and not petty party politics

Name: Al Baldasaro

Age: 55

Incumbent: Yes.

Elective experience: State representative

Occupation: Retired U.S. Marine, human resource management

Would you support the re-election of the House Speaker? Enthusiastically, yes.

How can Republicans and Democrats better work together in the upcoming session? As a social and fiscal conservative, there is no compromising with the Democrats’ agendas. We must live within our means and protect the taxpayer.

Would you support the re-election of the House Speaker? I will strongly support Mr. O´Brien as leader of the House, as we continue to provide the citizens with strong, efficient, result-oriented government.

How can Republicans and Democrats better work together in the upcoming session? Remember that they are Granite Staters, either side should do what their constituency wants, and not a party.

How can Republicans and Democrats better work together in the upcoming session? It is an ideological problem, trying to make two parties coming from different directions to come to one point is difficult.

Would you support the re-election of the House Speaker? Yes, I have observed him to be professional, fair, ethical and straightforward. He deals with potential problems head on and is steadfast in his convictions.

How can Republicans and Democrats better work together in the upcoming session? I invite Democrats to support the fundamental issues and values that the Republican party shares, I am happy to work with them to that end.

Would you support the re-election of the House Speaker? No, I feel that compassion should have been extended to both sides.

How can Republicans and Democrats better work together in the upcoming session? We need mediation to level heads. We are not going to agree on everything, but there should be some mid-ground that can be used.

How can Republicans and Democrats better work together in the upcoming session? The politics of lawmaking require mutual cooperation and respect between Republicans and Democrats. Lawmakers need to exercise negotiation, and remain open-minded of everyone’s views.
