A New England contra dance event is set for March 8 from 8 to 11 p.m. at the Londonderry Senior Center/Mayflower Grange, 525 Mammoth Road. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for ages 12 and under.

Chefs cook up tasty chili
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church hosts its first Chili Cookoff Contest on March 9 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Twenty-five teams of chili chefs will cook up their favorite recipes in this fundraising event. Members of the public are invited to enter their favorite chili recipes.
For a $10 donation, people can sample the chili and vote for their favorites. Awards will be given for best overall chili as determined by a panel of celebrity judges.
All proceeds will support the Greater Manchester Habitat for Humanity. Call Lee for information at (781) 801-8161.
Celebrate all things Irish
Leach Library on Mammoth Road presents an Irish celebration on March 11 from 4 to 5 p.m.
The celebration includes Gaelic music, stories and step dances.
Everyone will receive a “pot of gold” to honor leprechauns and their treasures.

Calling all artists to May show
Art in Action is set for May 4 and 5 at Mack’s Apples on Mammoth Road. All artists are invited to participate.
Artists will be able to demonstrate their talents and display finished pieces for sale. The show will feature watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, pastel, oil and mixed media.
