---- — LONDONDERRY — Hampshire First Bank recently hosted free document shredding events for the public at their Londonderry and Manchester branches.
Hampshire First’s partner for shredding, Northeast Record Retention, shredded an estimated 14,200 pounds of paper between the two events.
The public was invited to take advantage of this service free of charge.
In conjunction with the shredding event, Hampshire First Bank generated support for two local nonprofit organizations by inviting the public to donate money and various necessary items.
In Londonderry, enough nonperishable food items were collected to fill 20 grocery bags for the Sonshine Soup Kitchen, along with cash donations.
A group of students from Londonderry High School’s “Pay It Forward” service group volunteered at the event throughout the day.
“We truly appreciate the members of the community who attended our shredding events and supported the Manchester Animal Shelter and Sonshine Soup Kitchen,” said Dallas Lagerquist, retail market manager for Hampshire First Bank. “Organizations such as these provide essential services to those in need and we’re happy to help their respective causes.”
