---- — LONDONDERRY — A sixth-month police investigation led to the arrest of a local man on child pornography charges.

Jeffrey Velliquette, 42, of 37 Heritage Lane in Londonderry faces five felony counts of possession of child pornography after police received a tip, according to Londonderry police Lt. Timothy Jones.

Velliquette, wanted on a warrant, turned himself in to police Dec. 14, Jones said.

But he could face even more charges once local police and the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force complete their investigation, which began in June, Jones said last week.

“We’re just waiting for additional information,” he said.

Investigators searched Velliquette’s home and seized his iPad after receiving the tip, Jones said.

“They found some images that fit the legal description of child pornography,” he said.

Velliquette was released on $5,000 cash bail, Jones said. He is to be arraigned Jan. 7 in 10th Circuit Court in Derry.
